when the number of streams a wavebank is permitted to play is limited (wave banks tab, Max streams), and you attempt to play more streams than the permitted limit, will FMOD always play the newest stream? Does it use the priority system to determine if one stream is allowed to interrupt another? It’d be very useful to have ‘max streams behaviour’ which functions in a very similar way to max playbacks behaviour…

Currently it doesn’t steal streams i.e. if maxstreams are already playing then any new streamed sounds will fail to play. We’re planning to improve this situation in a future release but no ETA as yet.

Hi I thought I would check to see if anyone else has mentioned this before I posted a new thread :)

We have ran into this many times – is there any update on this? Even being able to set whether a stream is interrupted/stolen or it waits to play next would be very useful.

Hm, nothing’s changed I’m afraid. I can say that we’re redesigning the way stream pools work so this won’t be a problem in the future. More info on this next year.
