Hello!
I have a probably very basic question; how do I create soundtracks with the Designer?
What I want is that it should pick one song by random out of a list and play it until it ends, and then pick another one, and so on.

To start with put your streams in a single sound definition, then in an event, put that sound definition in.

The sound definition should be set to random or shuffle mode.

Make sure the wavebank the streams belong to is set to ‘stream from disk’ not ‘load into memory’ or ‘decompress into memory’

It wont automatically start a new track each time one ends, but i think we are adding this feature soon as a sound definition instance play mode.

Slightly off topic, but related; have you considered any interactive music features for FMOD?

I’m with you on interactive music functionality. A means to read markers from within a wav file and to transition between markers in various wav files based on game parameters would be great.

In my opinion a sequencer tempo use (bpm and bars/beats measure) will be better. it’s made this way in wwise audio tool and it’s very cool.

A new interactive music panel will be available by GDC in February.
