You can, but it’s a royal pain. Here’s how:
- Create your sound in software, attach your DSP effects
- Create a new DSP effect. This DSP effect copies off the source data into a Critical Section locked buffer. Then it MUTES the output (ie copies zeroes into the output)
- Create a custom hardware stream. The input to this custom stream is a copy of the data from your critical section locked buffer into the output.
So yeah, it’ll work, but it’s a pain to set up, and generally more trouble than it’s worth.
