if I fetch an FMOD::EventGroup* by name, with EventSystem::getGroup, and then wish to refer to that pointer later in my code (i.e. compare it to a pointers returned in a loop by getGroupByIndex), will this work?

i.e. the project has a number of toplevel groups, and as I’m iterating through them I want to know when I’ve hit the one I previously fetched

just wondering if I can compare pointers, or do I have to compare strings – i.e. the names?

Yes it would be ok you would have to call freeEventData on it to invalidate it i think.
