This is my code when I got this problem.
[code:2hvhvc54]result = system->init(100, FMOD_INIT_NORMAL, 0);
if( result != FMOD_OK)
{
printf("FMOD error! (%d) %s\n", result, FMOD_ErrorString(result));
exit(-1);
}[/code:2hvhvc54]

This was where the problems started.

result = FMOD_ERR_PLUGIN_MISSING
"FMOD error! <62> A requested output, dsp unit type or codec was not available. Press any key to continue . . ."

[code:2hvhvc54]#include <windows.h>

include <iostream>

include "fmod.hpp"

include "fmod_errors.h"

int main(int argc, int **argv)
{
FMOD_RESULT result;
FMOD::Sound *sound;
FMOD::Channel *channel;
FMOD::System *system;

result = FMOD::System_Create(&system);
if(result != FMOD_OK)
{
    printf("FMOD error! (%d) %s/n", result,           FMOD_ErrorString(result));
    exit(-1);
}

result = system->init(100, FMOD_INIT_NORMAL, 0);

if(result != FMOD_OK)
{
    printf("FMOD error! (%d) %s\n", result,           FMOD_ErrorString(result));
    exit(-1);
}[/code:2hvhvc54]

Why oh why!? have I forgotten something?

yes you’re either linking to the fmodexp lib and dll or you simply havent copied the plugins in if you want to use plugins.

You would be linking the fmodex lib not the exp version, the docs already tell you this.
