When trying to load this[/url:d1iptgel] FLAC file FMOD Ex 4.06.15 locks up and doesn’t get past the createSound method. This has been tested with the playsound example compiled using VC++ 2005 under Windows XP. Foobar2000 can play the file fine.

This came up while I was converting the old FMOD 3 code in ZDoom[/url:d1iptgel] to use FMOD Ex. The FLAC is standard sound included with ZDoom. ZDoom normally uses its own FLAC loader, which the author created using a stripped down version of libflac 1.1.2.

I also have some flac-files which completly locks fmod in the createSound function. They play fine in VLC media player.
It locks even with the FMOD_OPENONLY flag.

I can make the files available upon request (send me a message).

Use 4.07, it uses a newer version of flac libs.

Thanks. That fixed the hang-bug. It continues to run happily without hang or crash, but returns FMOD_ERR_INVALID_PARAM so nothing is played still.

I now also have a mp3-file which crash fmod when it reaches the end. It looks like a stack overflow (looking at the superlong stack in visual studio 2005) but says Access violation. This happens with 4.08 in the playstream example too.

It turns out *.xm and *.mod files (all of them!?) crashes fmod 4.08.
I’ve verified this with the playstream example too.

Perhaps FMOD should be renamed to FMP3 from now on 😛
