there seems to be some issues with FMOD Ex on Mac Mini G4 and PowerMac G4 (maybe with the output device);
compiling and running the examples they return the following error:
[code:d7rxh3n9]FMOD error! (56) Error initializing output device.[/code:d7rxh3n9]
No problems on iBook G4, G5 and Intel Macs.

I also see this problem with 4.06.19 on a G4 PowerMac (Dual 800MHz). I missed the last few releases but I can confirm that version 4.06.15 works, so something must’ve changed since then…
Edit: Looking at the release notes I’d bet this broke in 4.06.16:
[i:3nhr4m2a][list:3nhr4m2a]+ Mac – Overhaul of CoreAudio output to fix compatibility with various sound cards.[/list:u:3nhr4m2a][/i:3nhr4m2a]
In some desperate attempts to get this working I tried forcing a 44.1Khz rate to match the hardware’s capabilities and mangling other startup settings but nothing made a difference. Well nothing other than FMOD_OUTPUTTYPE_SOUNDMANAGER, which appears to work well enough in some quick tests but relying on a deprecated API is less than ideal.
