Howdy All

The chapter 5 tutorials are an excellent way to learn the software. However, it appears some files are missing for the section on ‘Cycle’ – the files are ‘start.wav’, ‘sustain.wav’,’stop.wav’ and the section on ‘Interactive Music’ is missing – ‘Music1_1.wav’, ‘Music1_2.wav’, ‘Music1_3.wav’, ‘Music2_1.wav’, ‘Music2_2.wav’, ‘Music2_3.wav’, ‘Music4_1.wav’, ‘Music4_2.wav’ and ‘Music4_3.wav’.

Does anyone know if these files are meant to be included or should we use our own? Or does anyone have any demo files that would suit these tutorials?

Thanks!

You can use your own files. At this point, the example files are not available – however I’m in the process of cleaning them up (and reducing the file size). I was planning to make them available via the FMOD website. So keep an eye out.

I plan to place them as an extra download to avoid making the designer install any larger than necessary.

Keep an eye on http://52.88.2.202/index.php/download#FMODExtras

They should appear today (or tomorrow at the latest).

There are a number of tutorials in the Designer user manual. I’m also currently working on a number of other educational materials.

If you take a look at the new FMOD wiki, you can see a plan of the educational materials that will be coming in next couple of weeks. You can check out:

If you are only interested in tutorials, then you can go to this section of the wiki.

Hopefully the wiki will grow into a comprehensive resource.

These files are now available from the download page on the main site (look in the extras).

The files have been modified a little from the originals, so some parameters in the tutorials may be a little out. I’ve included a sample .fdp file in the download as a ‘finished’ product / sample solution – which will help until the next release (I’ll update the manual).
