I have been trying for the past couple of days, to play some sounds using the FMOD system from bioshock. I don’t think I’m using the API correctly or I do not understand it. There are some files I wanted to use from the game (IE: The security camera sounds) for personal use in developing a simillar system for my room.

Seems farfetched but I favor the sounds that Fmod has used. I thought I could just import Fmod into visual studio but I think I was going about it all wrong.

If anyone could maybe help me a bit, without just reading and ignoring this topic =)

Even a simple, we’re not helping you would be great.

If you are looking to extract the sounds from Bioshock you may be out of luck. This was discussed in a previous topic:

Other users found that the files come out garbled which seems to indicate they are using our encryption feature to protect their data.

If you want to learn more about the API though you should probably start by looking at the examples provided with the API download, they contain several good starting points for different tasks. Also the documentation file in the API download contains the basics of how FMOD can be used and an API function guide.
