Howdy,

I am interested in using Fmod as a combination of a mixer and sequencer – taking several audio clips, mixing a couple of them together in a group, and then sequencing them one by one to create one big audio clip.

I’ve checked some of the examples supplied with the SDK and saw that it is only possible to capture the audio while playing it and writing it to a .WAV file in realtime.

First thing, i wanted to know whether my conclusion is true. If sadly, i am right i would be happy to know if it is possible to accelerate the playing speed of the audio clip to minimize the capture time.

Thanks again,
K

you can edit sounds just by loading them as samples, then using lock/unlock to access the raw data.

You can do this without any need to actually play the sound.

Hey,

Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately, recording a single sound and writing it to the disk isn’t enough in my case. I need to record a sequence of ChannelGroups as a whole and write them to a file. Do you have any suggestions? Is it possible to mix a ChannelGroup / SoundGroup (for example, by using FMOD_DSP_TYPE_MIXER) and get it as a Sound instance?

Thanks,
K
