I’m attempting to modify some sound volumes in a Crysis FDP file, and I’m having some trouble. When I go to build the project after making my changes, it asks for the sounds in their original .wav format. Of course all I have are the FSB files, so there’s not much I can do about that. Literally all I am doing is increasing the volume of a few sounds…so why would this action require every single sound in the FDP file? Security? It seems like there should be a simple way to by-pass this. Does anybody know?

Thanks in advance.

some info about wavs is stored in the fev, so the wavs are needed to build the fsb.

Right, but i’m only rebuilding ONE fsb file, not ALL of them. There’s honestly no way to rebuild that one fsb file without having the original wav files of every sound in the entire library? Because I can and will extract the wavs for one fsb file so that i can rebuild it, but extracting every wav in the weapons library would be completely devastating.

Thanks for the response.

It’s nice of you to reply (pity? :P), but that really isn’t related to my question. I already know how to extract and repackage the FSB files and have done so successfully. That doesn’t help me change the volumes in the FDP files unfortunately.

We’ve been asking for a way to easily import FSB files into Designer for awhile now. I don’t think it is yet possible to do it…

It would be nice – so we could build interleaved files (for example) in FSBankEX and import those into designer for building interactive music systems, etc.

Seems to me that’s the solution you’re looking for – and it doesn’t exist at present.

Actually symbiotic thats not what he’s asking. But your request for the input of fsb files into designer (for a single interleaved multichannel sound for example, not to ‘reimport all wavs for the whole game!) is on our list of things to do and should be available soon.
