Hello,

We have a case where we have a single sequential event that has seven sounds, A-G. When triggered, it plays the first sound in the list, and then when triggered again, it plays the next.

MaxPlaybacks is set to 3 on this event, yet we can only get it to play once at a time. The event can trigger very rapidly– think Sonic diving into a sea of rings– and we need to keep that sequential order. If we use a new instance of the event each time we call, we lose the sequential calls, every event begins at a random note in the chain.

When we reuse the existing event, we have multiple PlayEvent calls that produce no sound at all. What should produce 8 distinct sounds in a set order instead produces one.

Hopefully this problem has been solved before, but I wasn’t able to find anything on the forums related to it. Maybe I didn’t use the right keywords :)

Thanks for your help!

do you call getEvent each time you want to start the new instance? You have to do that to grab an instance.

Do you mean your event has 1 sound definition instance and it is the [i:7e3ksmjl]sound definition[/i:7e3ksmjl] that has the 7 sounds in it, set to sequential playback mode?

We could have a look at your fdp maybe to see what is going on, you could send it to support@fmod.org with a detailed description of how you play it and what you want to achieve with it.
