I just updated from 0.4.7.8 D, to the latest FMOD install (stable) 4.12.02.

Sounds are playing out of the wrong speakers. It’s as if the left and right channels have reversed.

I’m still using FMOD_SOFTWARE | FMOD_INIT_3D_RIGHTHANDED for the init function.

Do you know why the speaker output is now switched? What was changed?

I could go ahead and make the necessary changes to correct the speaker problem, but if I update in the future, what’s to prevent the problem from happening again?

Is this a bug?

Have you made sure your vectors are all correct. Use fmodexL logging version of the library and see if you get any new errors appearing. That function does cross and dotproducts to error check your input.
