I’ve just started using FMOD Designer, and I ran into a problem. There is an FPS game, where you can switch between multiple characters, who are talking. If you control a character or he is nearby, you hear normal voice, but when it’s further, you hear the voice from the radio. The voice is a single file, and when it comes from the radio, I apply some distortion effects and mix some noise to it to make it sound like radio message.
The question is: can I use a single event, and just turn on/off the effects and the noise, or I have to use two separate event? If two events are needed, can I switch between them during playing? For example when the player chooses another character, when his current character is still talking, and the voice has to change to radio mode instantly.

I agree, using a parameter (and effect envelope) to control the distortion and filtering (radio effect) would a great way of handling this situation.
Kovee: take a look at some of the examples included with Designer. You should find a few examples using the effect envelopes and distance parameter.
