Fixed it, it turns out that because I was not sure on which files to add, I added them all which clustered and confused the project somehow.
After re-reading the documentation I found the files I needed and only included those and that solved the problem.

currently, my game builds fine and works with FMod in debug mode. While creating a release build of my game, I am not sure what .DLLS, .LIBS, .a’s to add.
So I am currently adding all my FMod contents into this release build directory, which I’m assuming should give me no problems. However, the release build fails due to FMod problem.
