I am opening streams with FMOD_NONBLOCKING, and using FMOD_CREATESOUNDEXINFO to set the initial sound to the first sound in my sentence. When the sound status is ready I call setSubSoundSentence and then play the sound. Occasionally I still get some seeks and reads from within setSubSoundSentence, which causes a stall because it is on the main thread.

I thought FMOD_NONBLOCKING and setting the initial sound should avoid this? I’m using an FSB of xma compressed files on X360.

thanks

Hi,
Normally it does work like that with codecs that dont need to do a little read to get past their codec blocksize limitation, it looks like the newer codecs like xma and mpeg werent checked for this case.

We’re looking into changing the behaviour so that it doesnt do this due to a sentence setup for our next update. You would have to use 4.15 development branch to take advantage of this.
