Hiya – apologies if this is a dopey question. I am writing a little audio visualiser all i really want to use FMOD for is to analyse the what is coming out the speakers. At the moment I have got it all hooked up to get the spectrum for an mp3 or whatever played by FMOD, but really i just to be able to get the spectrum either of the default record device or preferably the master out so that I can play from whatever source and analyse the output. is this possible?

thanks

well ive got halfway there – using the pitch detection sample i can now visualise anything which goes through one of my machines recording devices – this fine on my desktop since the stereo out appears on the recording devices list. but on my laptop i can only visualise stuff played through the line in, but not stuff i play in media player, or music that i generate on the pc (not thru fmod). Is there a way to analyse the output buffer instead of the input one? or is this a limitation imposed because outputs are for output and so cant be read back?

thanks
