Is there any way to do sentence stitching using the Designer?
(for example for a commentary style fsb where multiple different phrases would be stitched together)

I’ve looked at the docs, and searched the forums, but there doesn’t seem to be a way….

Is the only way to do this, to load an fsb using the standard createStream call and then use setSubSoundSentence on the Sound?

edit:
I guess, further to this, the reason I ask is that if this isn’t supported, then we would basically have two tool chains, in that most of the sounds in our game use the Designer/Event system, but the voice stuff would use the separate fsbank build tool…

Thinking about this, I’m not exactly sure how commentary style sentence stitching would fit into the event system. Maybe someone could shed some light on this.

look up ‘programmer sounds’ in the documentation.

The best way to do commentary is to create banks with FSBankEx so that you can use the ‘basic headers’ feature to save memory. (basic headers store 8 bytes per subsound instead of onehundred and something bytes)

You then register a programmer sound callback, and call setSubSoundSentence to stitch sounds together, and playsound using the lower level api.
