hi everyone,

i’m fresh on fmod ex before i was using fmod but by passing on linux the sound quality was horrible. So i decide to download fmod ex. Good news the sound is great and i enjoy it:)

So i can read a sound but i cant use DSP and GetSpectrum functions. I cant find the C API’s documentation of all to make a 2D visualization.

thanks.

PS: sorry for my english:)

There are examples you can use that come with FMODex.

But, using GetSpectrum in FMOD EX is much easier than before. All you do is call:

[code:29m2iikl]
//get fmod spectrum data
float fSpec[256];
FMOD_Channel_GetSpectrum(fmodChannel, fSpec, 256, 0, FMOD_DSP_FFT_WINDOW_BLACKMAN);
[/code:29m2iikl]

the "0" is where you specify the channel offset. you can get data for each channel the playing stream has.

FMOD_DSP_FFT_WINDOW_BLACKMAN is an FFT window mode, there are a few different kinds you can use.

DSP is a little bit different. You have to create a DSP unit and attach it to the the system or channel. There are examples in the fmod package that can help you.
