I am using FMOD EX to play streaming music from an IIS HTTP web source in C#. I am feeding FMOD the appropriate url, and it is playing most of the songs correctly.

However, I would say about one in five is blowing up with the error ERR_FILE_COULDNOTSEEK. Repeated attempts to play the culprit tracks yield the same error, although I cannot pick out anything special about them. They’re all MP3 files, and I am not trying to seek anywhere in the file — just play them from the start.

I can post code if it is helpful, but it is pretty straightforward stuff, only a couple of FMOD calls.

Any idea why this is happening, or what I can do to get some better behavior?

This sounds like it could be due to ID3 tags in the MP3 stream. You could try using the FMOD_IGNORETAGS flag when you create the sound, and possibly FMOD_MPEGSEARCH if there is more than 4k of ID3 tag data in the file.

If you are still having problems with the flags, could you give us a link to an mp3 stream that is causing you problems.
