Never had any probs with the fmod.dll before, but I re-formatted & reinstalled Windows (on another issue). Got the email on fmod 3.6, downloaded & got GPF right after initialization in form_load event.

On a hunch, retrieved version 3.5, put it app.path, inserted ChDir App.Path in the form_load event but got the same GPF.

Checked system.ini, looked ok. Is there some external file needed?

Sorry, thought that was all you wanted to know.

I am working with the SamplesVB\Sample1 project

I got past the first prob as mentioned in my orig post. Then the FSOUND_GetCurrentVU in the Timer code caused an error because it isn’t declared anywhere in the modules. Commented it out. Then got a ‘bad dll calling convention’ in this line

dsp1 = dsp_lowpass_create(stream1, 1, 0)

I compiled it with the _GetCurrentVU commented out & it worked fine.
What’s the declare for FSOUND_GetCurrentVU?

GetCurrentVU is replaced by GetCurrentLevels in fmod 3.6

Then I gather the samples were not updated to work with 3.6?

Is this thing not meant to be run in the VB ide? I get intermittent GPF’s from the ide, but it seems to run fine as compiled exe.

I’ll see if I can fix it, and I’ll send you the updated example.

While you’re at it, Adion, you could also include a spectrum example for VB. Now that I think of it, why didnt you model the VB example after the C++ example?

I have fixed the example and added spectrum. I’ve sent it to brett and he said he’d update the downloads soon.

When I have some more time I might make the example more like the c example.
