iPhone is coming around as a more and more popular platform for portable gaming. I’m currently working on an iPhone game project.

Is there an FMOD implementation for iPhone? Will the regular Mac implementation work? If no/no, are there plans for a FMOD version for iPhone in the somewhat near future? Thanks!

I recently released my first iPhone game <shamelessplug>[url=http://www.chaoticbox.com/pinch_n_pop.php:296v0w9h]Pinch ‘n Pop![/url:296v0w9h]</shamelessplug> and I agree it would be very nice to have FMOD available for the platform. Even a stripped down version of FMOD’s low-level APIs would be a step up from OpenAL.

You will be happy to know that an iPhone version of FMOD is in development at present and it is a high priority.

To answer your other question, no the normal Mac version will not work, while some of the APIs look similar there are differences and the whole thing links with different SDKs.

HAHA! You guys are awesome. I was just at the point in our project were we needed sound on iphone and then this beautiful email comes in FMOD for iPhone! :) We use FMOD on all our platforms and have no interest in changing.
