Hey there, I was wondering how to get this to work.

Situation:
I have a split screen game. I have setup two listeners. Now I want sounds from Listener0 to play on the left channel and Listener1 to play its sounds through the right channel. I think my logic is flawed, because I see this as two inputs which merge and form a mono sound thats played to say the center speaker. I want to intercept each one and direct it to the left or right.

Any Ideas?

That is not possible, think about it, when there is actually only 1 sound, it can’t pan in the left AND right at the same time as a 3d sound, if one listener hears it from the left, and the other hears it from the right.

This is why we just pan stuff to the middle in this mode. The other way to solve it is to use 2 channels for every sound, one for each listener, but that would just sound bad, flange, and use 2x the resources necessary.

In the future we might allow a software only solution – by combining 2 pan matrices it would actually be possible to use 1 voice and have the listeners panning the sound correctly. It would never work in hardware.
