Hi Guys,

Just started messing up with FMOD music tab.

I’m experiencing one problem: I made two themes to be transitioned on cue activation and that is working perfect. Now I added one Flourish theme meant to be played in dangerous situations on top of first theme (concurrent), shared timeline between them and that is also working fine. But when I start Second theme Flourish theme doesn’t stop since it’s concurrent. So my question was how to stop concurrent theme before it ends. I would like to fade it out together with theme 01.

Thanks in advance :)

This is a good point, there isn’t anything specifying the relationship between the two cues. This means the programmer will need make sure he/she ends both cues at the same time.

You’ll need to handle the fade-out of the concurrent theme separately to the sequenced theme. You can try making a ‘stop path’ from the flourished to a ‘fade out’ segment.

I’ll have a play with Designer and see what I can come up with.

cheers,
Templar

Thanks Templar,

we’re going to look for solutions also in our studio. It would be great if it’s doable. FMOD is great tool and I just don’t believe that they didn’t had in mind such simple option as stopping concurrent theme before it ends :)

Here’s link to project file:

… this works with really short themes. I used layered sounds from music dir. Just save fdp file in this dir and load it with designer.
c:\Program Files\FMOD SoundSystem\FMOD Designer\examples\media\music\

All three themes are set to concurrent and I used three methods to stop them when I want:
1. Drums theme is set to cycle between a-b-c-a segments. When Drums Play parameter is set to 0. I linked every a, b and c to d (Stop segment) with Targeting conclusion link, so if parameter is greater than 0 it should play segment d and stop theme.

  1. Bass theme contains just one sound which is looping when Bass Loop parameter is 0 otherwise it won’t loop.

  2. Guitar theme contains just cycle a-b-c-d-a without stop segment. When Guitar Loop parameter is 0 it plays normally, otherwise stops.

I hope this helps to anyone with similar problem. I still don’t have solution for longer segments. I really need badly volume control :p

Cheers!
