According to the documentation of EventSystem::GetCategory
"Sub-categories can be retrieved by specifying their full path e.g. "vehicles/cars/racers". "

But this does not appear to work, and always seems to return "FMOD_ERR_EVENT_NOTFOUND"

My test:
[code:16jl3fas]mpFMODEventSystem->getCategory("master", &masterCategory); // FMOD_OK

       masterCategory->getCategory("sfx", &subCategory); // FMOD_OK

       mpFMODEventSystem->getCategory("master/sfx", &subCategory); // FMOD_ERR_EVENT_NOTFOUND
       mpFMODEventSystem->getCategory("master\\sfx", &subCategory); // FMOD_ERR_EVENT_NOTFOUND[/code:16jl3fas]

Am I doing this right? Did I misunderstand the documentation?

Searched for others posts on this but didnt see anything.

Thanks for any insight you can give.

I’m having the same exact problem and can’t find any way to make it work. Is this normal ?

[quote="cmcarthur":370ytszy][code:370ytszy]mpFMODEventSystem->getCategory("master", &masterCategory); // FMOD_OK

       masterCategory->getCategory("sfx", &subCategory); // FMOD_OK

       mpFMODEventSystem->getCategory("master/sfx", &subCategory); // FMOD_ERR_EVENT_NOTFOUND
       mpFMODEventSystem->getCategory("master\\sfx", &subCategory); // FMOD_ERR_EVENT_NOTFOUND[/code:370ytszy][/quote:370ytszy]

Leave the "master/" part out of your path:

[code:370ytszy]
mpFMODEventSystem->getCategory("sfx", &subCategory); // should work
[/code:370ytszy]

The documentation is unclear on this point. It has been clarified for the next release.
