I know this question may look strange, but here’s the situation. I am about to release a casual game. Until know all my audio engine was based around FSOUND_Sample. But due to RAM limitations I was proposed to switch to FSOUND_Stream for audio score.

It works perfect, but I don’t want to risk. I know that FSOUND_Sample was tested by me on different machines and it works perfectly.

Is there a chance that FSOUND_Stream may be less reliable and result in more problems and errors while using on a big range of different low/middle-end hardware?

It depends on your stream buffersize. If it is large enough it should be fine (but not too big). The default is 400ms which should be enough for any machine.
