Hi there,

I saw in your release notes that it’s possible to set the audio session category in the init function’s extradriverdata. I couldn’t find any helpful information in the header files so I tried this out:

UInt32 category = kAudioSessionCategory_AmbientSound;

result = system->init(32, FMOD_INIT_NORMAL | FMOD_INIT_ENABLE_PROFILE, &category);

However, it did not appear to have the desired effect.

How do I pass the category via the extradriverdata parameter?

Many thanks,

Andy

There is a section in the docs regarding this. Please look at the platform specific issues part of the documentation CHM, under the heading "Mixing With The IPod"

If you look at fmodiphone.h you will see the the equivalent for kAudioSessionCategory_AmbientSound is FMOD_IPHONE_SESSIONCATEGORY_AMBIENTSOUND.

Sorry — I really should install a CHM reader. :)

Thanks for the quick reply!

No problem, we use xchm here since it’s cross-platform and free.
