You want to stop a sound from playing after 0.5 second?

You can set a callback function that can be called if a sound has been played for 0.5 second.
For this you need to set a syncpoint, look up FMOD_Sound_AddSyncPoint
Set the syncpoint 0.5 second in your sound.
You also need to set the sound to your callback function, look up FMOD_Channel_SetCallback
