I tried to use the ASIO Low Latency capability of the fmod 3.6 Player but it didnt work..

It says “Error Initializing Device” and doesnt play any track.

What can be the prob?

Yeah, that’s true. Kx ASIO drivers don’t work with fmod. I think that’s a fault of Kx drivers, however, because fmod works almost fine with Steinberg ASIO drivers. They just sound a bit strange… but work!

Hello Brett,

Is ASIO recording supported in FMOD?
I did look through the docs, but didn’t find it mentioned in the recording section.

Also.. I noticed in another message that you’re using a USB ASIO driver, I think it was for the Extigy. Have you tried a Griffin iMic with the same driver? I ask because I have a custom, full-duplex MME app using the iMic that I’d like to move over to FMOD for several reasons.. Especially if ASIO recording is supported.

Thanks,

Gotcha. Still, since the playback latency is the worst with MME,
I wonder if it would be worthwhile for a full-duplex app to use MME
for recording, and ASIO for output? (assuming such trickery is
possible, I haven’t tried it)

Thanks,
