I was wondering how the settings for compression quality correspond to bit rates (mp3, mp2). I couldn’t find any information on that.

no.

Note that that kbps table is not entirely accurate, for example mp3 doesnt support 3.2kbps. The bitrates are listed here http://www.mp3-tech.org/programmer/frame_header.html
