Hey guys,

I’m trying to help consult a composer who’s planning on doing some work on an iPhone project, and after convincing him to go the FMOD route, he wanted to know how much of a footprint (both on disk space/memory use) that implementing it would add on-top of whatever space the application itself would take, if there is any definite number for that.

Any information regarding this aspect of implementing FMOD would be great, thanks!

Regards,
Michael "Skitch" Schiciano

We don’t have any figures on hand but I can suggest a few things. Firstly if the size of the FMOD is an issue we do ship a reduced version, you can check the platform specific section of the docs for details about what we remove from that version.

Also getting the memory used at any stage in FMOD is as simple as calling Memory_GetStats() you can use that to establish a base line. There is also getMemoryInfo() for all objects allowing more detailed memory information.
