Hi,

Is there currently any way to tell FMOD to prohibit the use of certain sample formats, or alternatively specifiy which formats to allow?

My thinking is that this would be useful for protecting us against receiving any FSB banks from our external audio designers which may mistakenly contain formats that we are not licensed to use on certain target platforms, or formats that are not optimal for a certain console etc.

So then for example if we try to load a sound bank, or play a single file, that is not among our explicitly selected formats, then the operation would return an error code. Or something like that.

If there isn’t any straightforward way to achieve that as it stands currently, then would this be a reasonable feature-request for future revisions do you think?

Many thanks

Dave

if you have source access you can remove support for certain file formats in fmod_settings.h
