That’s my first post here in the forum!
First o fall, I’m a newbie…
I want to use Fmod in a college project, and in order to study it, I’m trying to run the examples programs, but all of then return a ‘Bus error’ …
yes… i’ve run the build_media_files.sh in the media folder. Just to be more precise, while trying to run the simple_event program, the error occurs when the function ERRCHECK(result = eventsystem->load("examples.fev", 0, 0)); is executed.
I’ve tried this files on Linux (Ubuntu 7.10), and it worked perfectly… so as you can imagine, i’m stuck
I appreciate any help, or tip, thanks a lot!

I’m in the same boat. After whole day and night(BTW hand in tomorrow 😡 ), looking around, creating mad scripts to get the libfmodex.dylib and libfmodevent.dylib link properly I finally found something I have no energy to solve…
I made an example almost exactly the same as the parameters one from fmoddesignerapi examples and I get the same FMOD_ERR_FILE_NOTFOUND error as you, even though I created the FEV myself.
I tried to get the original parameters example to work but it didn’t because build_media_files script does nothing and that’s because ‘example’ from /tools/fsbanklib does nothing and that’s because, again, the dylibs are not linked properly.
I like the FMOD Designer and was expecting smooth sailing but now I’m disappointed. If I would have paid for this I’d be furious.

Hi, for ages ive been searching for a Mac OSX skin for my Windows Vista and the ones that I have found dont change my Taskbar when it should so does anyone have a link or can tell me where to get a skin from Do not recommend FlyakiteOSX to me
Thanks for all the help.
I have just installed 4.24.05 here to verify the installer is functioning correctly, everything checks out. You should not ever get a bus error, if the media were missing (i.e. you haven’t run the build media script) you would get file not found. I recommend you totally delete the FMOD SDK directory and reinstall clean.
I recommend the same for you too, the example should work, you are only required to run the build media script and build the example with make. The example that builds the media is already built, so you shouldn’t be getting linker errors.
I think you have ended up in the wrong place, please stay on topic.
