I have several cues witch call a peticular music track. exaple. menu_music, treasur_room_music, Title_music, level_selection_music, Credits_music and a menu_transition for when the music passes from one to the other. I can get the cues to crossfade between each other but not by passing the transition first (how do I doo this). and when I want the music to stop it always plays to the end when I want it to end right away or with a slight fade out. how do I doo this?

Also I want my music in game to behave like this pleas help. I’ve looked at the tutorials and I am still lost.
I want the music to change with time,(time based game)

ex.
level starts the music should play in this order.

aztec_intro
Aztec_gold
transitionA
Aztec_silver
TransitionB
Aztec_bronze
TransitionC
Aztec_Idle
Aztec_Outro

each segments will have variations.

I have tried to do this but the transition between segments is not seamless.

thanx in advance for the help

p.s. The music systeme is really complex the tutorial is great but still to basic. there should be a phoney example of a real life situation.

I have version 4.23.08

You can do this with a combination of targeted links and default transition timeouts.

For example, if you want to transition from menu_music to level_selection_music by playing menu_transition and then crossfading:
[list:2galnib0]
[:2galnib0]Set level_selection_music’s default transition to crossfade, and set transition timeout to give some time for menu_transition to play (say 2000 ms)[/:m:2galnib0]
[:2galnib0]Create a link from menu_music to menu_transition that targets level_selection_music (click the target button on the level_selection_music theme before creating the link)[/:m:2galnib0]
[:2galnib0]Set the new link’s custom transition type to "On Bar" or "On Beat" so it is followed soon after you trigger the level_selection_music theme[/:m:2galnib0][/list:u:2galnib0]
With this setup, if menu_music is playing and you trigger level_selection_music, the music system will follow the targeted link to menu_transition (because it’s trying to get to level_selection_music). Because there is no link from menu_transition to level_selection_music, it can’t get any further, and 2000 ms later the default crossfade transition will be triggered, crossfading from menu_transition to level_selection_music.

If you want it to end with a slight fade out, the best way to do this at the moment is to trigger an empty theme with a crossfade default transition. This will crossfade to silence, which is the same as fading out.

This looks like the same issue you emailed us about on the 4th of July. Is this true? Were there problems with the mockup I sent you? If so, could you please respond to my email with any queries you have?

Segment lengths are rounded to the nearest beat. This means that if you don’t specify the correct tempo for each segment you can get glitches when transitioning between segments. Have you specified the correct tempo for each segment?[list:2galnib0][/list:u:2galnib0]

This does not work when I try it with the console. I made a empty theme called "all stop" and nothing happens when I clic on the button

That’s odd, it works for me. Did you set the "all stop" theme to Sequenced, with a Default transition of Crossfade? Do you have sticky mode set on the audition console control?

I got it working. I had to set an empty segment as a stop segment.
