Dear everyone,

I searched this forum, to answer my question whether FMOD works with Windows Mobile 6+. Some mentioned that yes it was working, some say it is not supported because WM lacks floating point math.

Could I kindly ask to clarify the answer:
[list:1t4o2vca]Is FMOD possible to use on Windows Mobile 6+? I search for a way how to play Amiga .mod files on smartphones.

In case of negative answer, could I kindly ask for an information(source code) on developing my own .mod playing library, please?

Is suitable alternative known, that is possible to play .mod files under Windows Mobile 6.+ please?[/list:u:1t4o2vca]

I’ve heard it works, but saying it is not supported because WM lacks floating point math is strange, because FMOD was developed back in WM1/2/3 days. This is WM6.
FMOD uses fixed point integer maths for all of its internals although it does accept floats still as the parameters.

Thank you for answer. I decide wether to purchase iPhone or WM based device, and sound support is one of the variables I consider too.

Well, it was you who mentioned that FMOD is not planned to be supported on Windows Mobile just because of Floating Point support. I probably misunderstood someting. Could I kindly ask to clarify.

There are two different versions: FMOD Ex and FMOD3

That other post was in the FMOD Ex forums, FMOD Ex will never be supported on any platforms without floating point support.

FMOD3 doesn’t require floating support, as Brett mentioned it uses fixed point integer maths for all it’s internals. Thats why it runs on Windows Mobile based devices.
