Hi!,

I have done some scientific experiments with 3D sound using FMOD as sound engine. For this, I need to know the details about the [b:gqmmbyx2]model for 3D panning[/b:gqmmbyx2] used by FMOD. The problem is that without knowing how does it work, the robtained results using this library have no scientific credibility.

Thanks in advance,
Vladimir

Hi Vladmir,

FMOD uses constant power panning. When a sound is panned to the centre it has a volume of 0.707 in each channel.

Hi once again,

Can you actually provide the mathematicall model (equations) of the constant panning you are using? This is really necessary for our research proposes.

Thanks in advance,
Vladimir
