hi Folks,

this error returns in the Sandbox when adding an entity:ERROR! FMOD: (59) A call to a standard soundcard driver failed, which could possibly mean a bug in the driver or resources were missing or exhausted.

There are 25 entities present – it seems I’ve hit a ceiling of some sort. Is their a maximum fo the Sandbox?

best,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

There is no limit to the number of emitters you can have in sandbox. It sounds like you might be experiencing a hardware/driver issue, can check that the "force software" property in the soundbanks is set to yes. For PC we reccomend using software mixing instead of hardware mixing.

hi Pete,

thanks for the note about software mixing.

BTW, is there an easy way to drop the floor out of the sandbox. I played around with making the checkerboard.png transparent, but no luck.

best,

Bruce

I’m not entirely sure if it’s possible to make the floor transparent. Sandbox uses Ogre for the rendering which does support alpha layer transparency in the png files. If you’re using Photoshop to generate the png that might be why it’s not working:

Hope this helps.
