Hello lovely forum people!

Just finished a very large and complex project using FMOD and there’s a strong chance we’ll be using it again. One of our single biggest problems was that the lack of ATRAC support on PS3 meant we had to strip hundreds of (varieties of) sounds from our PS3 version to make it fit the same memory footprint with a combination of mp3 and ADPCM. This was very laborious and meant maintaing seperate projects for 3 platforms (as we also needed a different bank structure on 360). Any changes had to be replicated 3 times accross the projects and big changes meant doing it all in one and then doing the PS3 strip-out over again.

Could we please get a checkbox per waveform on the sound definitions tab which allows that waveform to be excluded from a particular SKU? Then we would be happy bunnies :)

Or ATRAC support 😉

Cheers.

Would anyone else like this as a feature?

I tried adding notes to the wave forms in the sound banks tab in the hope of using an xml parser to strip them out to create the additional projects automagically… but the version of Designer we’re on (4.25.08) crashes when you try to add notes there. Hopefully that’s fixed when we move up the the latest one.

I’m pretty sure this is already on the feature request list. I remember talking to Andrew about it about a year ago, but seems to have fallen off the radar, or maybe tabled for a future version…?

The crash bug when adding notes was fixed in 4.25.09. We’ll never support ATRAC in Designer unfortunately. The feature you requested is indeed already in our tracker and I’ve bumped it’s priority so it’ll get another look very soon.

Apologies for the delay!
