Hello :)

Can the same sound be used in a sound sentence and in a channel group at the same time?

I have created some sound streams and have it set up that they play together in a channel group.

Next I create a new stream. I make some of the streams playing in the channel group subSounds of the new stream.

Next I create a sound sentence to emulate a playlist.

In some instances I create the sound sentence first and then the channel group. This has no affect on what is described next.

Let’s say I start my playlist first and then play the sounds in my channel group second. When the channel group begins to play the playlist (a sound – with subSounds) stops – I don’t know why. When I try to re-start the playlist FMOD informs me that the channel the playlist was playing on has be reused.

The sound sentence is playing on its own unique channel. Each sound playing in the channel group is playing on its own unique channel.

I have allocated thousands of channels so I am not running out of channels to play sounds on.

Please help me understand what is happening so I can pass this error or identify my mistakes.

It appears the answer is no to my original question but this is only supported by my limited testing.

If you create a sound as a stream, you can only play it on one channel at a time. If you require multiple instances of a stream you need multiple FMOD::Sound objects.
