Hi. I’m running Mac OSX 10.4.11 on a PPC G5. I downloaded and installed version 4.28.00 of Designer and Event Player, and version 4.29 of Sandbox. In both cases, I make a few events (wave banks are "Load into Memory", PCM), build the wave bank and .fev files and try to load them into both Event Player and Sandbox and when I try to play a sound event, I get:

FMOD Error (89) : FSB mismatches the FEV it was compiled with, the stream/sample mode it was meant to be created with was different, or the FEV was built for a different platform.

I created the designer file and sound events from scratch using a Designer matched to the Event player. Any ideas here?

Thanks!

I’ve just confirmed that 4.28.00 Designer produces fev and fsb files compatible with 4.28.00 Event Player and 4.29.00 Sandbox. Can you try going to build -> rebuild in Designer to remove any cache files.

I did a rebuild, I had also done a clean previously. I just made a brand new project from scratch, created one event with one sound definition with one wave file, built and got the same error (FMOD error 89) in event_player and sandbox. Could this have something to do with the fact I’m running an older G5 PPC Mac? Could I send you my newly created project to see if that turns up anything?

Thanks for any info…

Yes you are correct, I can see a problem with the FSB files generated on a PPC machine. I will get this fixed for our next release.

Also be aware that support in FMOD Designer for PPC will be phased out in the future.

Thanks!

Can you tell me what version number I should look for and approximately when it will be available?

The fix will be in 4.28.03 and 4.29.03 of Designer which should be released towards the end of next week.
