According to the manual,
guid is the "Address of a variable that receives the GUID that uniquely identifies the device. Optional. Specify 0 or NULL to ignore. "
However I simply recieve a blank guid when output mode is waveout.
BTW, can I rely a soundcard has different GUIDs for different output modes?
Tested with 4.28.02 and 4.11.00 (first one that introdruced getDriverInfo)

The GUID is something that is provided by the particular output mode, DirectSound has one method of providing it, WASAPI has another, WINMM has none. One sound card will most likely have different GUIDs depending on which output mode is used.

WinMM really isn’t an ideal choice for output mode these days anyway (it was used because it was faster on Windows NT), you should use the default (which is DirectSound on <= XP and WASAPI on >= Vista).
