I have a project that I’m working on in which I’ve completed a DLL via VB6 that uses FMOD as much as possible in a clean and easy to use class. Now another developer has contacted me for assistance with a project in which they are using DirectShow to read out AVI files but would like to include sound with the playback.

Is there a DirectShow filter capability to be able to add the FMOD channel in-line with his DirectShow filters? If not, is there a way that I could pass FMOD a byte array of PCM data and have it play it back? I’d rather have a filter implementation to ensure everything stays in time but if not available would strongly consider using a stream of PCM data to pass for FMOD to play out of the sound card. Any assistance is appreciated!

Yes, you can pass raw PCM data to FMOD, take a look at the usercreatedsound example.

I’ll give it a look Peter. I knew there had to be a way I’m just getting stuck in other parts of FMOD right now to go looking for new trouble. Thanks for the reply!!
