hi am totally clueless as to how this fmod works , the editors are not simple to operate imo.

my plan is i have a pc title here that uses the fmod audio system.

all audio is packed in FSB format , i found a audio player online that can
decompress the audio to a moddable format, how do you repack these FSB files?

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CREATE A QUICK SIMPLE EDITOR

opens Fsb files to a workable format easy edit then replace them pack
recompile.

i tried to use some of the editors they are a nightmare.

would be great if yous could provide videos on how to do simple edits on created FSB files. then reformat again.

The FSB file format isn’t intended to be used for storing source material. You shouldn’t be ‘repacking’ a FSB because in the case of lossy compression, the sound quality will deteriorate each time it is repacked. You should use .wav files for you source material and pack them into FSBs once. To create you own FSBs use the FSBank Tool that ships with the programmers API.

There are currently no video tutorials for FSBank, it’s quite simple to use – just read the documentation.

As I said, FSB isn’t meant to be ‘opened’ it’s the output that is read by the game. You should be using your own .wav files to create FSBs.

am no coder though how can i do that in a game though?

Am I understanding correctly that you are trying to mod an existing retail game? You want to unpack the banks, edit the sounds and repackage them. That’s not what FMOD Designer is intended to do. Its for creating new content for games from scratch by developers. Some games (like crysis) have some support for additional user generated content with FMOD but most do not. Also, if the source project is created from Designer and you try to edit and rebuild the banks in another tool you might find all sorts of strange things happening.

If the game in question is able to accept a whole new FMOD build (.fev and .fsb’s) then you need to learn to use Designer to do what you want but without the orginal .fdp project file from the developers (unlikely) you will struggle to get anything to work at all.

so i need the fdp PROJECT FILE

in order to load in up in fmod .?

fdp set the bank order i take it and parameters?
