hi.
For my project, i’m searching a sound lib with vst support. So i found FMODex.
I was testing examples that can be found with latest stable release.

I tried DspPluginViewer.exe, which seems to do exactly what i want, with vst fx plugin "Glitch" (can be found here : [url:r4dkmmbt]http://illformed.org/plugins/glitch/[/url:r4dkmmbt]. It’s a free plug).
When i try to open vst graphical editor, DspPluginViewer.exe crash.

Do you think this pb come from the example, or from Fmodex lib?
Is there a list of compatible Vst with Fmodex?

Vst compatibility is the main criteria for my project.

Thanks

mick

it could be a solution to create my own VST fx, but unfortunately, i really don’t have the time (and the skill?) to do so.
Thanks anyway for the idea.

I just had a quick look and the crash is coming from inside the VST plugin itself, so I don’t think there is anything we can do. We don’t maintain a list of VST plugins that work with FMOD, however our VST support has been around for quite a while now, and we haven’t had many complaints over the years so I would guess most VST should work.

Thanks for the answer.

I asked to Glitch VST creator, and he seems to be agree about the origin of the problem.
He’s working on a new version, so i will wait.

mickeu645 –

I am also working quite heavily in the VST arena with FMOD right now. I'm not sure if this is information you can use or not but I've been creating VST plugins with SynthMaker ([url:1tmmq3qt]http://synthmaker.co.uk/[/url:1tmmq3qt]) as it seems to be working quite well with FMOD. Plus it is simple as pie to use and create complex VST plugins or instruments. Best of luck!
