I am trying to run my program on Ubuntu. It compiles fine however running it gives the error below:

ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:773:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to create IPC semaphore
FMOD error! (62) Error initializing output device.

Could you please help me with this…

That sounds like an error coming from inside ALSA, perhaps you have configuration issues with your config files?

Have you tried using a different device with FMOD? Also try running aplay using the same device as you have specified in FMOD to ensure your ALSA is working properly.

I tried aplay ..apparently i needed sudo rights to play a sound. The fmod examples works fine now however my program still has few problem. At the moment this is what i receive.

error while loading shared libraries: libfmodex.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tried setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH= .. but doesnt seem to help.
Any suggestion or advice on this matter please?
