Hi,

I’m experimenting with streaming sound based on the ‘User generated sound’ example that comes with FMOD Ex. I have made a couple of minor changes that allow it to generate a single tonal, which uses a global frequency variable that I can modify from my main program loop.

The problem I’m having is that the pitch of the sound output changes maybe a couple of seconds after I change the pitch variable. I have tried cutting the buffer length to 1/4s, but the problem is not resolved.

What can I do to fix the problem?

Thanks

Could you post some sample code demonstrating what you are doing? perhaps someone can advise you better that way.

Alternatively you may want to look into creating a custom DSP for tone generation.

Well, I went back to my code with the intent of posting it, and just happened to realise I was modifing the sample length rather than the decode buffer length. Problem solved.

Thanks for your response all the same.
