Getting back to FMOD Designer since we’re gradually getting over our Big Project. I downloaded the latest FMOD Designer (4.30.03) and am running it on a 64-bit Windows 7 setup.
I’m having strange GUI issues. The Sound Definitions hierarchy view’s trees do not expand – or they expand but a part of the items are missing (covered by a blank square), or they are overlapped by each other. Waves cannot be drag & dropped from one Wave Bank to another (or: the location they should be dragged to is mis-matched with the items in the view). So, anything related to the hierarchy view on the left hand side appears broken.
I’ve had odd GUI issues akin to this with some other programs as well (XNView: the media previewer’s buttons are mashed together), so I’m not sure whether this is a problem in Win7 64b, my display driver or FMOD Designer. 😕
We have tested Designer on Windows7 64 and have not had any issues. Your problem might be related to your system configuration such as display drivers as you mentioned. Have you got the latest 64-bit drivers for all of your hardware?

.. but I’m supposed to be able to drag Events from/to groups in the Events / Hierarcy (or Categories) tree, right? And I’m supposed to be able to drag wavetables between Sound Definitions, and Sound Definitions from one group to another? And .wavs from one wave bank to another … right?
Because right now, none of those can be done. 😕 I can use Cut/Paste to do that, but it appends a "copy" to the entity name.
Yeah, hard to pin-point the cause. Maybe Vista’s GUI library is broken?
I updated my NVidia drivers a while ago, and … this is weird. It fixed the drag & drop problem momentarily. I was able to drag & drop Events, Categories and Sound Definitions – but not .wavs between wave banks.
… and then it stopped working again. 😮
Gonna have to try again later.
