Hi,
i’m trying to simulate a turntable.
I load a fmod sound and i set a negative frequency to achieve a reverse play.
Now, i need a "complex" DSP to apply to this sound so i’ve made it with fmod designer.
The question is: there is a way to load an event and set a frequency (negative or positive) like a fmod sound?

An option could be to treat the frequency as a parameter of the event but i cannot find a "frequency effect" to apply. I cannot use pitch because it takes only positive values and don’t play backward.

No, currently there is no way to play events backward. As you correctly noted, FMOD Designer has a ‘Pitch’ property in place of the FMOD::Sound frequency property. That pitch property cannot make a sound play backward.

Oh, it’s a bad news for me :(
There is a way to play a fmod sound and apply to it a DSP created with the Designer?

Maybe the word dsp is wrong… i need to change the frequency of the fmod sound and apply this according to the frequency

In practical terms i get the frequency as an input and change (for example) the lowpass filter to 11Khz. Furthermore i need to apply others filters in the same way (distortion and tremolo).
Is it possible?

Anything which you can do with designer can be done with the low level so it is possible, but it’s not trivial. Creating an applying DSP to FMOD::Channels is easy, however you will have to write the code to control the parameter values with the curves yourself.

Thank you for the reply!
I’ll try to approximate the curve with a spline.

It would be nice to load a function made with the designer through the low level and get the real time values of that curve. Maybe it can be a future feature? :)
