Hello,
I’m having an issue with the FMOD midi engine for iPhone where when playing back midi files containing long notes in instruments like strings and horns (that should not decay throughout the full length of then note), the sound is decayed within a couple of seconds.
This is using Apple’s own DLS bank, but I had the same results using my own DLS bank.
The midi file plays correctly in Logic with the same sound bank.
Am I correct in assuming that FMOD midi playback is forcing a decay on all sounds no matter what the decay settings are in the DLS bank?

Without digging into the code it’s hard to determine what the reason for the difference is. FMOD should be following the ADSR envelope for each instrument. Does the playback of FMOD and QuickTime differ in the same manner as with Logic?

If you send us (support@fmod.org) a simple MIDI file that demonstrates the incorrect behaviour I could investigate it for you.
