Hello,

I recently developed a console application through which we can play music in DOS.

The sound is played very well but quality is too bad and memory usage is quite high.

Please give me some advice on memory management functions and quality sound output.

I don’t understand, what is wrong with the quality?

You can reduce the memory usage by using streams instead of samples, look at FMOD_CREATESTREAM flag.

When I play mp3 files the quality of sound is bad where as wav files are giving good sound quality.

Actually the sound output from speaker is not clear.

I have checked everything in the system, do I need use some functions to improve the quality of sound.

No you shouldn’t need to do anything special to get MP3s playing back normally. Can you try modifying the ‘playsound’ example to play your mp3 file and see if that sounds OK?
